Syd texted the wrong number asking for advice about a dress. Then something unexpected happened.

When a woman named Syd sent a simple text message she had no idea it would change someone’s life.

Syd was shopping for a new dress when she took a photo for a second opinion but then accidentally sent it to the wrong number.

The person on the other end of the wrong number was a father-of-six named Tony Wood.

Instead of ignoring the text message, Tony from Spring Hill, Tennessee, decided to have a little fun.

He replied to Syd, saying: “I believe this message was intended for someone else. My wife isn’t home so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!”

He also attached a photo of five of his kids giving her the thumbs up.

Mandi Miller, one of Syd’s friends, then posted the exchange on Twitter. It, of course, went viral.

Tony then replied to the thread explaining that one of his kids, named Kaizler, was sadly missing from the photo.

Kaizler, 4, was with his mum Rachel at the chemotherapy clinic receiving treatment for Leukemia at the time the photo was taken.

Then something wonderful happened.

Someone linked to the GoFundMe page which had been set up for Little Kaizler and people started donating money to help out the Wood family.

At the time of publishing, the page had already raised over $9000 for the family of eight.

Tony tweeted a photo of Kaizler giving a thumbs up to thank everyone for their generosity.

And that’s how a simple wrongly sent text turned into a heartwarming fundraising effort.
