The viral adoption plea that hit us right in the heart.

Five siblings from Kansas, who are hoping to be adopted together, have had a viral response to a “family wanted” appeal that appeared in a US paper.

The three boys and two girls are aged from two to 12 years old were featured in the article by Neil Nakahodo for the Kansas City Star on Saturday.

“These five siblings are in need of a loving family with an abundance of love, energy, kindness and patience,” said Nakahodo.

The article described Bradley, 11 as a music lover. Preston, 10, is said to be an outdoor enthusiast and animal lover.

Layla, eight, loves hip-hop dance and is “kind and caring” and Landon, six, wants to be a PE teacher.

The youngest in the group, two-year-old Olive “is a champion at doing all things that 2-year-olds do” and  “loves to be cuddled”.

Corey Lada with the Kansas Children’s Service League told the BBC they had a “viral response” to the appeal.

“We’ve identified some possible families who may be a good fit,” Theresa Freed, communications director for the Kansas Department for Children and Families, told ABC News.

The five children are in separate homes in foster care and no details have been revealed about their parents’ circumstances.

“This is the most attention any single child or sibling set has received since [the agency] can remember,” Freed said.

Due to the overwhelming response, an ad featuring them on Adopt Kansas Kids has been removed.

Over four million read about the appeal on Kansas City Star with many readers offering to take care of the children.

Commenter Joann Bucko said: "I would love to adopt all five of them. I have three grown children and six grandkids, have a four bedroom huge house."

Another local,  Megan Jorrick, said: "[I'd] love to take them all! No kids and lots of extra space in my home. Grew up helping raise my nieces and nephews. Everyone who knows me knows I love kids and want them but I am unable. I would LOVE the opportunity to love these beautiful angels and enjoy church with them!”

Candi Troia  - among many others - said she would "take them all".

We hope they find a loving home.
