REJOICE! Donald Trump's immigration ban has been blocked by a US federal judge.

A Seattle-based United States federal judge has granted a nationwide temporary restraining order, blocking President Trump’s recent action barring nationals from seven countries from entering the US.

Judge James L Robart’s order represents a major challenge to the Trump administration. The judge declined to stay the order, which means travel restrictions could be lifted immediately.

The restraining order will remain in place until the judge considers state attorney-general Bob Ferguson’s lawsuit challenging key parts of President Trump’s ban as illegal and unconstitutional.

If found illegal, the executive order would be permanently invalidated nationwide.

It is expected that the Trump administration will immediately appeal the restraining order.
