Transgender model Andreja Pejic has walked the runway as a woman for the first time.

And she looks stunning.

Australian model Andreja Pejic has made her catwalk debut as a woman after undergoing gender reassignment surgery early last year. And as usual she looks completely gorgeous.

Pejic, who was famously discovered when she was 16, flipping burgers at a Melbourne McDonalds, recently walked the runway for fashion designer Giles Deacon at London Fashion Week.

Wearing dark lisptick, slicked-back hair and a high-necked pussy-bow top, Pejic joined fellow models Lily Donaldson, Jessica Stam and Kendall Jenner for the show.

The willowy model got her break in 2010 when she was cast in a womenswear shoot by French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld.

Before transitioning, the Serbian-born 23-year-old enjoyed success as an androgynous model known as Andrej.

Last October, she made her first public appearance since undergoing surgery at the opening of Jean Paul Gaultier’s exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria, but London Fashion Week has marked Pejic’s return to modelling.

She previously told the Sunday Telegraph’s Style magazine that she was worried that transitioning would impact her career:

It took me 10 years to get here and there was never a moment I didn’t want this…The physical aspects of the operation did not worry me. I was more nervous about coming out to the press and how it would affect my career. I found out that transition was a possibility at the age of 13, every day since then was a waiting period.

Pejic took to Instagram after the show, posting, “It feels amazing to be making my runway debut for one of my favorite British designers #Giles.”

By all accounts, she nailed the show, and we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more of Andreja in future.
