It turns out Coke is a very well-rounded beverage. We all know it as a popular soft drink but did you know you could use it for cleaning, cooking and gardening?

Neither did we. Have a look at all of the its weird and wonderful uses.

Defrost a frozen windshield. Apply liberally and wait.

Make better compost. Coke increases the acidity, adds sugars and feeds microorganisms.

Remove grease and dirt stains from clothing.

Add a can of Coca Cola to your pot roast to tenderise it and add extra flavour.

Descale a kettle. Let it soak, then rinse.

Make a sweet BBQ sauce. Mix a can of Coca Cola with tomato sauce and brush over ribs or chicken.

Remove stains from carpet. Apply Coke, scrub, then clean with soapy water.

Remove (or fade) dye from hair by pouring Coca Cola over it.

Remove blood stains from fabric.

Clean oil stains from a garage floor. Let the stain soak, then hose off.

Get rid of hiccups. Gargle with a big mouthful of ice-cold Coca Cola.

Clean a toilet. Pour around bowl, leave for a while, then flush clean.

Neutralise a jellyfish sting.
