These brothers take festive spirit to a whole new level

These brothers are our Christmas heroes. For the past 34 years they’ve had their photo taken with Santa.

“We’re stuck,” Martin Gray, now 30, told Good Morning America. “We don’t really have a choice at this point. My mum always did it and we never gave it much thought. [But] it came to the point where we can’t really stop this since we’ve done it for 12 years.”

Every year, no matter where they were living, the brothers made a point of getting together for a festive snap.

“Sometimes my brother had to scramble to come home from college and I’d just have to meet him at some random mall,” said Gray.

Besides, their mother loves getting her yearly photo: “Our mum thinks it’s hysterical, and it’s all about making mum happy.”

She kicked off the tradition back in 1980, when Gary’s older brother was an only child …

To the arrival of his little brother in 1984 ...

To those awkward tween years ...

And into their spotty teens ...

They started to get a little big to be sitting on Santa's knee, but they didn't let that stop them ...

They just moved a little to the side ...

The years rolled on, and so did the photos (Santa seemed quite chuffed to see them) ...

They experimented with awkward sweaters and reindeer props ... then got a real-life new prop in the form of FriarMarty's baby son ...

And then the corker comes in the last two years ...

I swear, I feel like part of the family after all that ... I half expect to see them at the dinner table on December 25.

Do you take your kids for Santa photos every year?
