The Mamamia Find. What's yours?

What’s your find?

You know that feeling when you find something so cool you just want to share it with the world? You want to scream from the rooftops and let the whole world know how AMAZING it is – that’s what The Mamamia Find is all about. Whether it’s clothes, shoes, music, movies, recipes or anything  else you have found lately – share it here – we’d love to know about it.

Mia: I went to Paula Joye’s house one day a while ago and she served up these incredible choc chip cookies – still warm – with tea. And I’m all “I need the recipe!” assuming it is Bill’s or Donna Hay or some obscure baking book that she’s found at a garage sale. And she’s like, “It’s Betty Crocker – I KNOW.”

Paula does not do anything from a packet so the fact that these have passed muster is impressive.

I rushed out and bought a bunch of them for my pantry and now, I can have freshly baked cookies within 15 minutes (including baking time) of someone coming over.

Mostly though, I just make them for us. And the other night, I crumbled some over my ice-cream. Ohhhhhh.

Lana: High waisted jeans from Sportsgirl.  Before you go thinking I am a nana before my time – check them out.  They are quite slimming and uber comfortable.  And in my head if you can buy them from Sportsgirl they must be a little trendy

Nic: Uslu Airlines nail polish. I know, it doesn’t sound like something you would want to put on your nails, but it comes in THE best colours and only requires one coat. I’ve had it on for a week and it hasn’t even slightly chipped. I’m hooked. The colour I bought is TIA, from Incu in Sydney.

Rick: Evernote! Call me a nerd. Thousands have. But this software (download it!) helps me organise my life, links, note, photos and memos like never before. It helps when you have a scatterbrain like I do. Wow. What’s happening to me?

Nat: Clear mascara from The Body Shop – it’s a lifesaver for people like me who somehow, by the end of the day, end up with all their black mascara under their eyes instead of on their eyelashes. And – bonus – you can also use it on unruly brows to keep them in place. So good.

Bec Sparrow: Country singer Melinda Schneider.   I spoke at the launch of 10,000 Teens in Sydney recently and Melinda was there and sang her song “Courageous”. I was moved to tears.  I’m not usually a country fan but this song just spoke to me.  I think Melinda actually wrote the song in honour of breast cancer survivors.   Here’s a clip of Melinda singing the song OR go to her website, go to MUSIC then click on the BE YOURSELF album.  I am officially a Melinda Schneider groupie.

Kate Hunter: I found these last week – or rather my friend Susie found them and posted them on Facebook. They will really add to my Royal Wedding preparations: Knit Your Own Royal Wedding and a William and Kate Dress-up Dolly Book.
