He’s our favourite coach, and he’s the first to fill his team on The Voice. But here’s what you don’t know about our man Ricky’s team.
Last night’s instalment of The Voice saw Ricky Martin complete his team, leaving his fellow judge/coaches Kylie Minogue, will.i.am and Joel Madden scrambling to find just one more protege each.
And just like in previous years, he picked the big voices and big personalities.
Matthew Garwood, a 24-year-old from Tasmania, took out Ricky’s final spot with his rousing performance of ‘All I Ask Of You’ from The Phantom of the Opera. While Matthew’s voice pricked the judging panel’s ears, it was his heavily tattooed appearance that really got their attention once they spun their chairs.
“I know what happened … you’re messing with us. Somebody else was singin’ and then you came out and took their place, huh?” Will.i.am joked on seeing the singer’s appearance.
Throughout the blind auditions, Ricky’s rounded up a diverse and talented group to mentor.
