Please share: Nationwide recall on mislabelled Easter chocolates.

Australian retail giant Target has issued nationwide recalls of several chocolates less than two weeks before Easter.

Several of Target’s Easter chocolates have been recalled due to incorrect labelling.

The milk, white and dark chocolate bunnies have been pulled of shelves across the country due to the risk of undeclared allergens including peanuts and tree nuts.

The products which have been recalled include: Target Milk Chocolate Bunny 900g, 500g, 200g, 100g Target Dark Chocolate Bunny 100g Target White Chocolate Bunny 500g, 100g Target Milk Chocolate Duck 250g Klett Easter Cone Mixed Bag of Chocolates 400g Klett Milk Chocolate Sitting Bunny 150g.

In a statement today the company apologised that labels stated products “may contain shell fruit” instead of “tree nuts and peanuts” which would put those with nut allergies or intolerances at risk.

“Customers who have a tree nut or peanut allergy or intolerance should not consume these products and should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the statement said.

“The products are safe to consume for customers who don’t have a tree nut or peanut allergy.”
