Prince Charles' goddaughter has died at the age of 45.

British socialite and Prince Charles’ goddaughter, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, has been found dead aged 45.

The former 90s “It girl” had been battling a brain tumour since last January last year, The Sun reports.

The television star received treatment in 2016 for a slow-growing benign tumour.

Police confirmed a woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at Palmer-Tomkinson’s London home on Wednesday.

“The death is being treated as unexplained. At this early stage, police are not treating the death as suspicious,” a police spokesman said.

Prince Charles said he was “deeply saddened” by the loss of his goddaughter.

“Our thoughts are so much with the family,” the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall said in a statement issued by Clarence House.

TV presenters Holly Willoughby and Piers Morgan have also paid tribute.

“Will miss your kindness,” Willoughby said on Instagram.

“A fun feisty woman who battled many demons. Very sad news,” posted Morgan.

The TV star and newspaper columnist made headlines for partying hard.

She wrote regular columns for The Sunday Times, The Spectator, and The Mail on Sunday and other media outlets.

Palmer-Tomkinson also appeared on the British version of reality TV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2002 – finishing second in the first airing of the series.
