Sylvia Jeffreys shares the horror experience she had on her engagement holiday.

Channel Nine sweethearts Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic had the perfect time during their European holiday in July… or so it would have seemed.

If you looked at any of the recently engaged couple’s Instagram feeds at the time, you would have seen non-stop blue skies, stylish hats and sunshine. Oh and an engagement ring.

The dream holiday, right? Well not unless your dream holiday includes being robbed.

Sylvia recently shared a photo that reveals while she and fellow Channel Nine reporter Pete were in Naples, Italy they had their car stolen.

“When your hire car has just been stolen, along with your possessions inside, and you’ve spent hours lost in translation in a Naples police station and a hire car office,” Sylvia captioned the Instagram photo.

“…So you jump on the next ferry out of town, find a drink and let the wind blow your worries away. Sweet holiday flashback @peter_stefanovic.”

The pair were travelling around Greece, Italy and France when Pete proposed to Sylvia.

It’s not clear whether the pair got their possessions back, but it seems like they still managed to have a great time despite the setback.

And we’re still jealous.

That Greek sun was alright eh @sylviajeffreys
