37 y/o Leeza from Sydney has spent the past nine days locked in a Bali jail cell.

Her name is Leeza Tracey Ormsby. She was born in New Zealand, but currently resides in the trendy Sydney suburb of Paddington.

Ormsby recently travelled to Bali to visit a friend.

And for the past nine days the 37-year-old has been held in a small cell at a Bali police station, accused of possessing 132.2 grams of MDMA and 26.06 grams of hashish.

It’s been reported that the drugs were found when police – who were acting on a tip off – followed Ormsby to a Kuta villa on February 12 and escorted her inside.

Ormsby had a key to the villa but insists she was actually staying at another villa across the road. According to media reports, the villa where the drugs were found was rented for a three-night stay by an Australian man. The man, who goes by the name of Azaria and who was a friend of Ormsby’s, reportedly left Bali the night before the villa was raided.

Ormsby is adamant that the drugs do not belong to her. But she has admitted to attending a drugs party at the villa a few days before they were found. When police discovered the drugs, Ormsby allegedly responded by saying: “I don’t know, I don’t know, it doesn’t belong to me.”

Ormsby is now reportedly sharing a cell with three other female prisoners and is sleeping on mat on a concrete floor. She has been visited by her lawyers, but not by any family.

We all know that Indonesia treats drug crimes incredibly seriously. You only need to look at the cases of Schapelle Corby, Renee Lawrence, Andrew Chan or even Michelle Leslie to know that.

Schapelle Corby, 36, was only recently released on parole after serving 9.5 years for smuggling more then four kilograms of marijuana into Indonesia.

Renee Lawrence, 36, is currently serving a 20-year sentence for attempting to smuggle 2.5kg of heroin into Bali in 2005.

Andrew Chan, 30, is awaiting execution by firing squad for allegedly being a co-ringleader in the same smuggling operation Renee Lawrence was involved in.

And Michelle Leslie, the Australian model who was convicted of possessing just two ecstasy tablets in 2005, spent three months in custody.

If convicted, it’s believed Leeza Ormsby could face up to 20 years in jail.
