A man in the US recently staged a spectacular marriage proposal including lanterns, lillies and a guitarist crooning Norah Jones’ “Come Away with Me” on a beach in California.
It all sounds delightful, but there was one unusual twist to the proposal.
The guy had secretly arranged for his family and his beloved’s family to travel across the country, and had planned an entire wedding to take place the following day.
It was either a really sweet thing to do. Or every bride’s worst nightmare.
According to the Huffington Post, Bryan reportedly convinced his ladylove, Heather, to wear a white dress and they wandered down to the beach together — only to be greeted by a celebrant, the couple’s friends, musicians and a videographer.
Rings were exchanged, tears were shed, and promises to stay together for all eternity were made.

The venue is breathtakingly beautiful. Heather looks stunning. And the proposal idea is super- romantic… we think.
Let’s just hope the bride didn’t have plans to choose her own wedding dress, venue or vows. (Or a secret wedding-inpo folder squirreled away on her laptop, for that matter.)

He presumedly knows her well enough to make this judgement call.
I´d feel forced to say yes even if i wanted to. Nevertheless i like it - if a woman would propose me that way.
But then, when in a million years would a girl come up with such an idea. All talk about womans rights and emancipation, but where are those modern woman that actually act that way? :P
On February 29. That'd be once every four years. I know two women who have proposed to their partners on that day. Both guys said yes.
I proposed to my husband, way back in 1991.
I meant more the "style" of the proposal.
I do appreciate you two took the first step. In my opinion it´s way past the time only the man has to propose, still the common opinion is the man has to... at least that´s still stuck in the head of a large portion of women.
And of course there are those men that would feel embarassed if the lady did ask, even more so if that happens in the public or even "worse" in front of those male friends ^^
Still - you gotta be pretty sure she/he likes it... otherwise it can backfire. It´s a two-person thing after all.
