FLUFF: Kristen Stewart reveals unexpected new hair colour. Does she pull it off?

Kristen Stewart – she of the permanently grizzly expression and distaste for paparazzi – has revealed a pretty drastic new hair colour.

The 23-year-old Twilight actress showed off her new ‘do’ in a snapshot posted by the Maison de Cheveux salon in New Orleans on Instagram.

In the photo, Stewart is flashing the peace sign and even a hint of a smile – along with her new orange locks. So can we take that to mean she loves the new hue?

Are you ready for this? Here it is:

The hair colour is apparently only temporary, and for a new role. The salon captioned their Instagram pic: “Kristen Stewart gettin her hair ready for a new role! #americamultra #awesomecolor #houseofhair”.

The film is a new indie action-comedy titled American Ultra, which Stewart will be filming alongside 30-year-old Jesse Eisenberg (most commonly referred to “as that guy who really convincingly played an arsehole as Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network”).

IMDb says that American Ultra will be about: “A stoner and his girlfriend’s sleepy, small-town existence is disrupted when his past comes back to haunt him in the form of a government operation set to wipe him out.”

Stewart is famously camera-shy, and also scissor-shy. Her long, tousled brown hair is something of a trademark look – and for anyone who read Twilight, you will be well aware that Bella’s (the character Kristen Stewart played) luscious brown locks were almost as important as Edward’s (Robert Pattison, her former fling) searing-liquid-molten-amber-eyes.

Because of this, we can’t exactly give you a Kristen Stewart Hair Retrospective. Instead, enjoy this gallery of stars with quirky hair colours.

Do you think Kristen Stewart pulls off her new orange hair?
