Taking a photo of a sleeping person is often thought of as a tad creepy.
One man’s picture of his sleeping girlfriend has been met with a positive response however after he uploaded online recently.
The photo shows the woman surrounded by books, with the caption reading:
My 38 year old girlfriend just started her second quarter of college. She’s raised two kids, 15 and 10, on her own, has piss all parents and was the victim in not one but two domestic violence cases. We went wedding ring shopping earlier today and I think I’m ready to make the best decision of my life.
Cute, huh?
After a few comments enthusiastically told the user he should definitely marry the woman, he added:
FP Edit: Wow! I had no idea Imgur could be so amazing despite the forgotten cat tax! Thanks for all the kind words of support you guys! This woman profoundly inspires me and it sounds like she has many of you. Also, I’m gonna take all of y’alls advice and marry the shit out of her.
Send me all your love stories.
We wish the girlfriend luck in finishing her degree and the man luck in marrying the shit out of her.

Why should a man taking a photo of his sleeping girlfriend be creepy?
I guess it's because it's when they can't consent to a photo being taken and are completely unaware that someone is capturing their image, often at a time when we're not looking so crash hot and don't have the opportunity to fix our hair or smile or something.. Something along those lines, I suppose.
I don't disagree with you but in the circumstance you mentioned the issue is probably more posting the photo online, rather than just taking it.
I've taken a million photos of my husband when he's been asleep (eg he looks adorable, he's in a hilarious position, he's passed out drunk and I want to laugh with him about it in the morning, etc) and suspect most people have done the same!
People don't need to consent to their photo being taken, in fact, it would be a sad world if they did because we'd never capture natural, candid moments.
I think nearly everyone has taken a photo of someone while they're asleep, whether their child, family member, or a friend. There's nothing wrong or sinister about it.
I feel strongly about it as I'm a photographer, so found that line silly! I doubt it would be said in the reverse, if it was a woman taking a photo of her boyfriend.
