When you think about Afghanistan, you probably don’t picture skateboarding.

Much less… girls skateboarding.

However, at Skateistan in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, that’s exactly what girls  do.

Skateistan is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to using skateboarding as a tool for empowerment: a tool to provide access to education and to build friendship, trust and social capital between young people.
