What do you do if you’re a single woman and you’re desperate to become a mother?
This is a conversation I first had with my sister-in-law Nicky, while sitting on my lounge room floor drinking tea (where I have all my best important conversations with my girlfriends).
What happened over the next few years is an extraordinary and a heart-warming story that I’ve had the privilege of watching unfold up close.

This is a beautiful story and a very happy ending for Nicky. For anyone looking into using donor eggs it IS possible here in Australia and you don't need to wait 5 years. There are many donors right here in Australia (I personally know over 150) who offer their eggs to recipients and ask nothing in return. Unfortunately this fact is not widely known and it is disappointing that a lot of fertility specialists tell women their only choice is to go overseas or join a clinic wait list for anonymous donors.
For anyone looking for more information join the forum eggdonationaustralia.com.au and talk to many women (and some men) who have found their egg donor within a few weeks. It is possible in Australia and it happens everyday. I should know, I'm an egg donor and very proud of it
A lovely family & a lovely story. You can in fact do anonymous egg donation in Australia too, just not for money. I'm about to do it myself - at the clinic where I'm donating there's a 5-year waiting list of recipients so if anybody else has wondered about being an anonymous egg donor, do investigate!
