Killer’s girlfriend: ‘he’s the best boyfriend ever!’

Convicted killer Simon Gittany’s girlfriend has taken to the stand at his sentencing hearing this afternoon and declared him ‘the best boyfriend I have ever had!’ 24-year-old Rachelle Louise has described Gittany as ‘caring’ and ‘romantic’ whilst breaking down and says that she will ‘stand by him until justice is served!’ Louise was seen protesting Gittany’s innocence outside court earlier this morning.

Gay marriage legalised in Scotland

Same-sex marriage has been legalised in Scotland by a majority vote of 87. The first wedding for gay couples will most likely take place in October.

Rare food poisoning the cause of Bali deaths

Autopsies on the bodies of Noelene and Yvana Bischoff have revealed that food poisoning seems the most likely cause of their deaths. The mother and daughter were holidaying in Bali when they suddenly died from what appears to be a concoction of food poisoning  from fish and medication for existing conditions (asthma and migraine medicines).

Corby to be released 'within 3 days'

Schapelle Corby could be released from jail within the next three days, with news from Indonesia's Justice Minister that once her parole is signed she will be freed.  Amir Samsyuddin made the announcement at 1pm today that he will be signing 1700 parole applications of which Corby's is one.

Barbie designer defends body proportions

Kim Culmone, vice president of design for Barbie, has defended body image concerns over the doll's proportions, telling Fast Company's Co. Design 'Barbie's body was never designed to be realistic. She was designed for girls to easily dress and undress.'
