BREAKING NEWS: Gittany will be in jail for 18 years

Convicted killer Simon Gittany has been sentenced to a minimum 18 years…

Convicted killer Simon Gittany has been sentenced to a minimum 18 years (maximum 26 years) with no parole for the murder of his fiancee Lisa Harnum.

The judge, Justice Lucy McCallum told the court that the murder was not planned or premeditated and that “the intention to kill was formed suddenly and in a state of rage.”

Following Justice McCallum’s sentencing, one of Gittany’s sisters screamed, “In the name of Jesus Christ, he won’t be doing any of that time.” She was asked to leave the courtroom.

His current girlfriend Rachelle Louise was not in court to hear his sentence today, perhaps smarting from the backlash over the Sunday Night interview that saw her defend her lover in a paid interview.

Rachelle Louise described Gittany as “caring” and “romantic” while breaking down at his sentencing hearing last week and says that she will “stand by him until justice is served”.
