He pretended to kidnap a child in the street. Then this happened...

When we saw a video called “The Kidnapping Children Experiment” we knew we had to watch it. Now we sort of wish we hadn’t.

Yousef Erakat is a man on a mission. When he was a child his biggest fear was of getting kidnapped. Now that he’s an adult he hears about it happening all too often. He decided to do something.

Erakat posted a video on YouTube showing exactly how the public will react when witnessing a child abduction and it’s not good. “This video was a way for me to express that fear in an artistic way and also spread positive change as to why it is important to ACT when put into these types of situations,” he said.

In one scene an adolescent boy approaches a man in a car park, asking him for help to call his mum. The ‘abductor’ then walks up to them, grabs the boy by the arm and drags him off. The boy says ‘this isn’t my father’ and yet the stranger does nothing.

And that’s not the worst of it. Hang in there though. There is one shining moment and it involves a woman and some pepper spray.

Watch this video and think about what you’d do in situations like this.

How do you think you would have responded in this situation?
