The Glasshouse co-host feels the contestants' pain as her renovated home is passed in.

The Block‘s co-host Shelley Craft knows the struggles of renovations.

Channel 9’s The Block co-host, Shelley Craft and her husband, have put their Byron Bay home for sale for AU$1.5 million.  However, it was recently passed in at auction, giving The Block‘s co-host a taste for the challenges the contestants on The Glasshouse will face.

Shelley’s stunning tropical paradise has 5 bedrooms and sits on 6107sq ft of holiday greenery.

Given the owner’s profession, it comes as no surprise that this property had a bit of a revamp after Shelley bought it in 2010 for AU$1.6 million.

“We added a few new decks, patios and outdoor gazebos to really highlight the home’s outdoor feel,” she told News Corp.

“You learn the tricks of the trade on The Block but the most important thing I’ve learned about renovating is understanding the property. I would encourage everyone to live in a home for a while before renovating it. You find out soon enough what needs to be fixed and you learn what can be made better. Every change we made was to accentuate the home’s outdoor lifestyle.”
