By court reporter Rebecca Opie

An assault charge against singer Shannon Noll for allegedly assaulting a bouncer outside an Adelaide strip club has been dropped.

The 41-year-old was charged with one count of basic assault over the incident on Hindley Street in January.

But during a brief hearing in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today the charge was withdrawn.

Noll did not attend the hearing.
