A school principal wrote a letter to the tooth fairy and made this little girl's day.

Today’s Good News post is brought to you by Vaalia.

For the next four weeks we’ll be bringing you a little dose of good news. Sometimes when we turn on the TV, radio or open a newspaper, it feels like everything in the world is just sad and wrong. But there are pockets of delight and happiness, which we’ll be uncovering and bringing to you.

Okay, so we may have discovered the sweetest school principal in the history of forever.

Chris Wejr, a principal at James Hill Elementary School in Langley, B.C., sent a copy of a letter he had written to the tooth fairy to The Huffington Post. So why was a grown man writing to the tooth fairy, and why did he want the rest of the world to know about it?

Because it was all to make a little girl’s day.

Avery Patchett is a student at James Hill Elementary School, and when one of her wobbly teeth fell out at school, her teacher gave her a locket necklace to keep the tooth safe in until she got home. At lunchtime, however, tragedy struck. Avery fell over on the playground and her tooth fell out of the locket. She and her friends searched for the tooth but couldn’t find it anywhere.

Avery was understandably distressed (it’s not every day a kid gets to attract a fairy to their bedside, you know), but Wejr assured her that he could help out. Turns out, Wejr and the tooth fairy went way back and the school principal promised to use his connections to ask the tooth fairy to overlook the lack of tooth and still pay Avery a visit.

And so Wejr sent Avery home with this letter:

Wejr told The Huffington Post, “What is small to us may be huge to a child, so it is important to stay in the moment and give children the care they need… We need to model kindness and show them they matter.”

And, would you believe it, the tooth fairy still visited Avery. She got $5.
