Just two months after worrying publicly over the impact that a maternity leave might have on her career, television presenter Sarah Harris announced she is pregnant with her second child.
The Studio 10 host announced her pregnancy on air yesterday: “I’m sick of sucking in my stomach. I’m pregnant!”
She admitted the pregnancy came unexpectedly for her and her husband Tom Ward. “It was kind of a surprise!” Harris told viewers. “Because we were hoping to try again at the end of the year.”
She and Ward have a 17-month old son, Paul.

It was only April when Harris spoke publicly about her desire to have another child.
But she also shared feelings of hesitation, admitting she worried about the impact a second maternity leave might impact her career.
“It’s hard to step away. I think television is this weird, unusual beast that makes everyone super insecure,” the 35-year-old told The Courier Mail at the time.
“As much as you try and rise above that, there’s still a niggling thought in the back of your mind that if you go away, they will take that [position] away from you.”
