The Sandra Bullock Facebook post is beautiful, but not what it seems.

It’s been hastily taken down.

More than half a million people shared a moving Facebook post featuring Sandra Bullock grinning lovingly at her adopted son Louis Bardo Bullock this week.

“I’m tired of hearing from everyone that he is not my child, that he is not my blood,” the accompanying message said.

“He may not have my eyes, he may not have my smile, he may not have my skin tone, but he has all my heart.”

“I’m tired of hearing from everyone that he is not my child, that he is not my blood,” the message said.

The post attracted more than 28,000 comments and inspired thousands of social media users to share their own adoption stories.

It was also covered by international news sites including the Huffington Post, which ran the headline: “Sandra Bullock hits back at critics over adopted son: ‘I am tired of hearing he is not my child’.”

Now it seems the whole message was a fake.

The message was posted by a Facebook fan page, which is called Sandra Bullock Online but has far fewer followers than the 51-year-old A-lister’s official page.

The page mysteriously deleted the original post on Tuesday night, adding a disclaimer saying: “We are not associated with the real Sandra Bullock in any way. We just quote what we read and spread positivity.”

Rather bizarrely, the now-deleted Facebook post also appeared to have a hidden agenda. While it began beautifully with words about Bullock’s experience as an adopted mum, it then dramatically switched to become a plug for… a website about dog adoption.

That’s right — a canine adoption site.

“Adoption is just not limited to Humans. You can adopt anyone for that matter. If you are a Dog lover, Start your day with a smile by being a part of [a dog website],” the post concluded. “You can also get free goodies if you message them and join their membership.”

Bullock, who adopted little Louis in 2010 from New Orleans, Louisiana with then-husband Jesse James, is normally pretty private about her family life.

So we wonder how she feels about her ‘adoption experience’ going viral…
