I've fallen in love with the Tardis of refrigerators

I am soooooo overdue for a new fridge. My current one's crisper drawers are broken, it's grimy, the interior light no longer works ... it's a disaster. (It's also never been quite the same since my rabbit chewed through the electrical cord. Eeek!)

Entertaining is becoming embarrassing : I have to keep telling people not to look whenever I open the fridge door. So I've started campaigning with my husband for a major whitegoods purchase. My daughter has a 10th birthday coming up - we're throwing a Doctor Who-themed bash to celebrate - and it would be lovely to be sorted by then.

We're serving all the foods the current Doctor ate when he was regenerating: fish fingers and custard, bacon, apples, baked beans ... plus Dalek cupcakes, a Tardis birthday cake and blue fizzy.

There is NO WAY it will all fit in my current dodgy fridge.

So I've been doing my research and I have a huge crush on the new Samsung refrigerator, which features an in-built sparkling water dispenser. The 890L four-door, French door model (SRF890SWLS) is ideal for entertaining with its large capacity, wide shelves and a convenient integrated gas system, powered by SodaStream, that delivers cold, filtered sparkling and still water straight from the refrigerator door (perfect for making guilt-free blue fizzy).

The sparkling water dispenser uses a SodaStream 60L CO2 cylinder that rests in a small, concealed area inside the left refrigerator door and saves refrigerator storage space as it removes the need room for large carbonated bottles (as well as cutting back on plastic usage).

The fridge also features Samsung’s Twin Cooling System, with two separate evaporators and precise electronic control. This feature allows each compartment to stay at an ideal temperature and humidity level, helping to prevent odours from mixing while keeping food fresh for a long time.

The middle counter-height drawer creates four flexible compartments with Samsung’s Smart Divider and is easily accessible for kids, making it a convenient place to store items such as fruit drinks and snacks. The flexi middle drawer’s temperature can be changed between 4 pre-set temperature setting: meats -1 Celsius (°C), cold drinks 1 °C, deli and snacks 3 °C, and party dishes at 5 °C.

It also has a built-in ice maker (cubed/crushed) and can makes up to 4.5KG ice per day and store 1.9kg.

The 890L 4 door, French Door refrigerator is available from select Harvey Norman Stores with an RRP of $4,999.00.
