Sam Frost has responded to fans' concerns about her weight.

Sam Frost has admitted she reached a “breaking point” last year after her split from Sasha Mielczarek and relentless attacks by online trolls.

The former Bachelorette told the Herald Sun she spent some time in Melbourne to find solace and she has now emerged from the toughest year of her life, stronger than ever.

“I reached breaking point last year. I was like oh my goodness I am really, really struggling with my mental health,’’ she said.

“The trolls and the criticism were relentless. I just thought I am a good person, I am a wonderful friend, I am a wonderful sister and I work hard and I am grounded, I don’t understand why people are being so horrible to me.”

But the reality TV star says spending some time in Melbourne and weekly visits to a psychologist have brought the joy back into her life.

As soon as her radio showed finished up in late November, Sam headed to Melbourne and spent three months with family and friends.

“To be honest that how I got through the break up (and) the work shift. I do love Melbourne, it is amazing.’’

She also did her research and found a psychologist who has helped her find a happy work life balance and given her the tools and confidence to deal with online trolls and criticism. Sam says she now understands that when someone writes something nasty about her online it’s more about them and the problems they’re facing, rather than anything she has done.

“It has definitely made me have a different attitude towards 2017. I am like I need to own my space, keep moving forward and try and not let the little stuff bug me.”

Sam also addressed the recent criticism of her weight, saying it was “boring”.

“It is the same cycle, sometimes I gain weight, sometimes I lose weight. Sometimes if I am eating food with a lot of sugar my face gets puffier, if I am eating really healthy and eating lean my face gets skinnier. It is what it is. I don’t know what else to say about it.”

Sam is now looking forward to being put to the test by super chef Marco Pierre White on Channel 7’s new series Hell’s Kitchen.
