We’re moments away from the ultimate The Bachelorette reveal, where we will see Angie Kent pick between Carlin Sterritt or Timm Hanly to be this year’s winner.

But until then, we have gossip.

We caught up with last night’s evictee, Ryan Anderson, and asked him all the questions relating to who might win tonight’s episode, and he very kindly gave us his thoughts.

“Gun to my head, I’m still going to stick with Timm,” he said.

Angie Kent tells Mia Freedman what her relationship with the winner is like now. Post continues below.

As in Timm, the sunflower-loving, long-haired larrikin, who – to the surprise of, well… everyone – has won us over.

According to Queensland-based dog enthusiast, Ryan, Timm and Angie’s connection was apparent after their first single date. For those who can’t remember, the fireproofer landed the third single date of the season, which saw the pair go for ice cream before they spent the evening looking at their childhood photos.

“Timm came back a completely different person after his first date with Angie,” said Ryan.

“I think it surprised him and he didn’t really know how to act. And then he realised that ‘hang on a minute, I’m in with a chance here, and I really like this girl’. I just don’t know what his intentions were to start with, but I definitely know his intentions [are now] genuine.”

However, the former contestant also stressed that tonight could go either way.

"It just depends on what Angie's chasing," he continued. "I'll still be interested to see who it is, and I'll be shocked either way."

"Carlin's got that whole stability side of things, where Timm is the fun one, but he's also unpredictable. And while that can be fun at times, I think you've got to have a sense of seriousness. That's not to say Timm doesn't have it, it's just that I haven't seen it in him.

"They are polar opposites, those boys. They're both legends and really good blokes, but you couldn't get two different humans."

As for what Angie 'is chasing', Ryan said he's not sure the former Gogglebox star knows either. Instead, he thinks that like she did in last night's episode, she's going to go by her "gut feeling".

"I think she was kind of winging it and is going with her gut feeling," he said.

"When you've got a bunch of blokes who are so similar, yet so different, you can't really factor in the pros and cons. You just have to go with your gut.

"I think that's what she's going to do tonight. She's going to go for who she thinks is right at the time, and it may not be who is right for her in a year's time."

Interesting.

Although he's tipped Timm to take out the competition, Ryan only had glowing things to say about Carlin.

"Just going in as a person, I don't think there's anything [Carlin] could do, that would ever get him portrayed in a bad light," he said.

"He is one of the most genuine, down-to-earth, lovely guys I've ever met. The saying in the mansion was that Carlin is the kind of guy they would want dating his sister. He really is a genuine dude.

"For Timm and Carlin to be standing at the end, I couldn't be happier for Angie."

Tonight's finale aside, speaking about last night's nail-biting semi-final, Ryan was clearly still disappointed at the result. So much so, he hasn't been able to bring himself to watch the series.

"I did see the [teasers] leading up to it and I think that's what turned me off it," he said.

"I wasn't that keen on reliving that event and seeing Angie and myself upset. It was hard, too, seeing after the fact, that she may or may have not made a mistake."

Reflecting on his calm and measured farewell from the show, he said his composure hid the "numbness" he actually felt.

"I was heartbroken to be honest. I was thoroughly invested in her, and us, and it did come out of left field," he told Mamamia.

"For me, it was more a numb feeling after I didn't get a rose, and I think my numbness came off as being calm and collected, but I just couldn't get anything out. I just didn't know how to express myself in that situation.

"It was like a breakup."

And for now, Ryan said he plans on taking some time out from the dating scene (and from reality dating shows in general).

"It's just going to take time," he said.

"I'm looking after myself at the moment, being a bit selfish, and looking out for number one.

"I remain optimistic and I'm not shutting myself off from the option of finding someone else, it's just that right now, I'm not putting myself out there. I guess I'm emotionally unavailable."

As for whether or not Ryan is going to watch tonight's episode, the dog enthusiast had a pretty definite answer.

"Absolutely not," he said, laughing.

"But I'm sure I'll find out either way."

And we don't doubt it one bit.
