"I am SO excited." Everything you need to know about the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race.

The time has finally come.

A new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is finally here and goodness, this is the Mardi Gras weekend gift we’ve all been waiting for.

The Emmy-winning show is back for it’s twelfth season and the first episode is available to watch on Stan today – the same day as the U.S.

Watch the official trailer for RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 below. Post continues after video.

With host and producer RuPaul at the helm, the new season will see thirteen new drag queens vie for the title of ‘America’s Next Drag Superstar’.

“Our producers have come up with twisted, outrageous challenges that raise the bar for all competition of reality,” RuPaul told Entertainment Weekly.

“Our celebrity guest judges are truly legendary. And this cast of queens is, dare I say, the most talented we’ve ever had. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a fresh crop of queens arrives and blows our minds all over again.”

We. Can’t. Wait.

Here’s everything you need to know about the brand new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The celebrity guest judges are INSANE.

This year, RuPaul is expected to be joined on the judging panel by staple judges like Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews and Michelle Visage.

But the new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race will also feature an incredibly impressive list of celebrity guest judges.

While last year saw Miley Cyrus and Lena Waithe feature on the judging panel, this year’s list of guest judges is even more insane.

Here’s a full list of this year’s celebrity guest judges:

  • Nicki Minaj
  • Whoopi Goldberg
  • Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
  • Chaka Khan
  • Robyn
  • Leslie Jones
  • Normani
  • Daisy Ridley
  • Thandie Newton
  • Olivia Munn
  • Rachel Bloom
  • Daniel Franzese
  • Jonathan Bennett
  • Winnie Harlow
  • Jeff Goldblum

The new season is about to get political.

Amid this year’s US presidential election, we can expect the challenges – and even the guest judges – to be very political on this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

In the past, two winners of the Snatch Game (a challenge held in each season of RuPaul’s Drag Race) have imitated political figures, with The Vivienne imitating Donald Trump in the UK version of the show and Aquaria imitating Melania Trump in the 2018 US season.

This season, American politician and activist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is a staunch opposer of President Donald Trump, will make an appearance as a guest judge.

Plus, if the trailer is anything to go by, it looks like the season will feature a strong patriotic theme.

Since it’s not mandatory to vote in the US, RuPaul’s Drag Race has an incredibly strong influence on getting people politically involved.

After all, beneath all the glittery outfits and the sassy catwalks, RuPaul’s is a cultural phenomenon that actually has a lot of power and advocacy at its core.

The prize is… amazing.

As usual, the prize for this year’s season is pretty amazing.

Aside from winning a crown and scepter, the winner takes home $100,000 and a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics. (We’re a little jealous).

RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked is back.

As well as the return of RuPaul’s Drag Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked will also return to Stan.

The companion series, which airs immediately after the main series, provides viewers an all-access pass to what they don’t see on the show, including backstage drama and secrets.

In the series, the backstage footage is narrated by RuPaul himself.

The cast has been assembled.
