James Blunt cleverly silences critics who brutally trolled his royal wedding appearance.

There were 600 attendees at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s nuptials on Saturday, so you would be forgiven for thinking they may have had to invite the odd, erm, seat filler.

Just don’t accuse James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley of being among them.

After a number of viewers questioned via social media how the You’re Beautiful singer had managed to land himself on the guest list at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, the 44-year-old Brit decided to set the record straight.

In a response to a rather blunt tweet by @Zoeinthesky (“Who invited James Blunt to the royal wedding?”), the musician responded simply: “I’ll give you two guesses.”

According to British newspaper The Sun, Blunt is a friend of Prince Harry and previously served with him in the army.

Yet unfortunately for Blunt, it’s not the first time he’s been compelled to prove his friendship with the royal.

After attending the Invictus Games in 2016, another Twitter user questioned “who the f***” invited him to the Prince Harry-founded veterans sporting event.

His response?

“Prince Harry. By text. BOOM!”
