How "our" Mary is celebrating 10 years of being a real-life Princess.

Can you believe it’s 10 years since Mary Donaldson married a Danish prince? Well sorry, sister, it is.

The odds were against them ever meeting. But somehow the Prince of Denmark and a commoner from Tassie met at the The Slip Inn, a pub in Sydney, Australia at the Summer Olympics in 2000.

Although our Prince and Princess of Denmark’s first encounter was a fairytale, their chemistry and love for one another is very real, and lives on 10 years later.

The couple got engaged in 2003 and married the following year. The couple were subject to blanket media coverage both in Australia and Europe. She was the pre-Kate Kate.

The couple now have children together, Prince Christian Valdemar Henri John (born 15/10/2005), Princess Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe (born 21/4/2007), Prince Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander (twin, born 8/1/2011) & Princess Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda (twin, born 8/1/2011).

So why are they so compatible?

Well, the Prince has been proclaimed as ‘a doll’ by journalist Jane Wheatley in an interview for the Sydney Morning Herald.  She then implied the Princess has an elegance and generous  nature, after she visited to the biggest refugee camp in the world (in Jordan) and volunteered.

They both share a passion for sports, he skis, sails, hunts and enters iron man competitions (so he is pretty much action man). She grew up playing basketball, hockey and was a competitive horse rider.

We wish you royals the happiest 10th anniversary and many more fairytale moments to come.
