Golden Globes: Ricky Gervais delivers a very low blow to Ben Affleck.

Oh Ricky.

We knew that Ricky Gervais was going to be controversial as host of this year’s Golden Globes, and so far he has delivered.

He poked fun at Caitlyn Jenner and made jokes about Bill Cosby, at which most of the star-studded audience just cringed or shook their heads.

But it was his comment directed at Ben Affleck, by way of the Argo director’s best friend and writing partner, Matt Damon that is winning the race to the bottom so far.

Damon won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy for Martian (a categorization Gervais poked fun at earlier in the show). Later, as Damon was set to introduce Martian as a contender for Best Film, Gervais introduced him as the “only person Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to.”

Affleck and fellow actress Jennifer Garner split mid-2015, and were subject to much media and public speculation regarding the involvement of the couple’s nanny, and Affleck’s suspected infidelity.

Damon’s respone?

Damon shook his head and tried to laugh it off – and would probably give anything to be on Mars right now.

Gervais’ is clearly not here to win friends…
