Police officers in Western Australia are seeking homes for eight adorable puppies rescued from an abusive owner.

Officers of the Kimberley district were called to a local property after receiving an animal abuse complaint yesterday.

They rescued eight kelpie-cross-staffy puppies that were being mistreated by their owners.

After uploading an image of the pups to Twitter, the Kununarra Police Station has been inundated with calls from hopeful owners-to-be.

“We have rescued eight puppies that are looking for forever homes,” the Twitter caption reads.

“They can’t stay, it seems they’ve had a ‘ruff’ day on ‘pawtrol.'”
