We don’t say additional needs, say autistic that’s what it is.
Amazingly accurate, and its nice to see we have not been forgotten by everyone...although it does seem to be that way. I have had to put everything on hold to become and at home Education Support worker and a therapy assistant sitting at the computer with my son for three to four hours a day, a task he is not able to do for long, the work is brief and the breaks are frequent, I have had no respite in months and my son requires eyes on him constantly, but no-one wants to mention that to me, or even acknowledge this. so thank you for saying it for me.
Well said!! as a fellow parent of an amazing autistic child, I must agree wholeheartedly with this amazingly accurate piece of writing. Those who sit on the outskirts and blame from their seemingly picture perfect Instagram pictured lives should keep their damn mouths shut, they obviously have NO IDEA what they are talking about.
