The power of music and lyrics is an amazing thing. My mum has advanced dementia and often can’t put a sentence together most days but we put on the Beatles for her and she can sing along. Those lyrics still live in her brain despite so much else being lost.
Couldn’t agree more. I was really hoping to see an AOC “Tax The Rich” moment on the red carpet. Perhaps a curvy woman wearing a rainbow dress with #metoo emblazoned on it.
I am so with you on the cake thing! The best part about not having a cake is you get to avoid the ridiculous cake cutting photos, I mean who holds hands a cuts a fricking cake?!?!?!? I still regret giving into the photographer and participating in this ridiculous tradition.
I had extreme difficulty breastfeeding but was continually bullied into it by what felt like everyone. I even had someone in the Australian Breastfeeding association hotline berate me because I had given my son a bottle (of breast milk) because I was so stressed my milk wouldn’t let down and he was a terrible latcher.
