Devastating beyond words. What can be done for these poor, poor women? It feels so hopeless. I am filled with intense fury and hatred towards these despicable men, and heartbroken to my core for these women. We cry tears every single bloody week, yet nothing ever changes. RIP Aminah, I'm sorry we failed you.

Oh Holly I'm so sorry to hear this! I know how much you were looking forward to seeing your family in Manchester after so long away from them. This was beautifully written, thank you for sharing. Of course it's not your fault. Wishing you well x

Couldn't agree more! The #lowtox boss babe brigade is going to get a rude shock when their kids grow up and they refuse to partake. Not to mention how difficult it will be when their tweens need to learn about digital safety and consent, and they discover their parents have documented their entire lives and shaped their online identity, without their permission.

@anonymous There are many, many reasons why some women can't work (yes, even part-time), and if you truly believe what you wrote, then you are abelist and your feminism is not intersectional.

It is entirely possible that women can have their own individual self outside of their children without a job. Women without an income are also very capable of being invested in politics and having partners that contribute equally to the mental, physical, and emotional load of parenting.

I have temporarily found myself to be "just" a mother, and I am not detrimental to your daughter's chances of gaining equal status in society. It's unfair to place that on individual mothers doing what they can with what they have at a point in time. Your comment about SAHMs being boring dinner party guests is disrespectful and irrelevant.
