I normally don’t comment on threads but felt compelled as I have lived experience of this situation. I would say to all those commenting that it can be incredibly complex. For example, what if one parent has alienated the other parent, or their was abuse? The courts do not recognise parental alienation and so the wishes of the child are often formed due to manipulation. I am struggling with an ex who in intent on ruining my life and my sons. School is just another tool in their arsenal to inflict control. Be kind.
