I lost my mum 20 years ago, when I was 18 too. I had also not seen her for 1.5-2 years prior due to her moving countries after the devastating loss of her husband, my stepdad, in a fatal house robbery in Johannesburg. I too felt the “continuation” of life as a result and then, only when I got married in 2008 and then had my two children in 2009 and 2011, did the grief truly “hit” me. I still think about how different those life events would have been had she been there with me for them, but I also realize what a strong, independent and resilient person, partner and mother it has made me. Thank you for sharing x
I have it on good authority that @jacksonthecavoodle is a pretty uniquely tri-coloured little dood! 🐶
