I loved the first two seasons of SATC, then felt they became too much like caricatures of themselves. The movies were worse but somehow I thought the creators would redeem themselves with AJLT but OMG it's so bad! I cringed through the whole two episodes. Who are these people? Are they really only in their fifties? They come across like grandparents, so awkward and dated. Is this a reflection of NYC or American society?
It is heartbreaking that you lost your husband. What a very difficult time. It is also heartbreaking that you have to explain why you removed your wedding ring! My husband and I separated last year and peoples opinions and judgements are overwhelming.
He was behaving like a d**k to do that in front of his children so quickly. Was there a better way for you to handle it? Probably, but his children were obviously upset so your reaction would have given them some validation for what they were feeling. The fact you are now not commenting on his behaviour and continuing to help him with his children show you are a wonderful friend.
It is sad that the writer continues to allow herself to settle for being used as a bit of sexual variety. No relationship long term will ever diminish that thrill for some men (and women). It doesn’t mean they think there is something wrong with their relationship, it just means they like having sex with other people, but then going home to their partner. Unless she is not looking for more than that, in which case, I guess that’s fine, for her at least!
