Unfortunately no relevant DNA was found on the gate or at the house except for the victim's own DNA. Likewise no physical evidence was found (e.g. a chain, watch etc) to link anyone to the crime scene. Thus only circumstantial evidence exists. Much of this points at Bailey but is obviously not clear cut i.e. no alibi, talked to his partner about going over to Sophie's neighbour's house the night of the killing, scratches on head and hands, history of physical violence against women, witness statements of him knowing the victim prior to the murders, witness statements of him knowing details regarding the victim before anything was known, burnt mattress, clothes and boots directly outside his studio back door (to hide evidence?), witness statement of a black coat being soaked in a bucket after the killing etc
