I haven’t read ghosts yet!

As someone who doesn’t know much about dementia it was interesting to see it through the eyes of his family. My grandfather has just been diagnosed with early onset dementia so I appreciate all the coverage it gets

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

Agreed! It would make a completely different story though

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

I like that aspect

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

And on your earlier point, toxic masculinity makes such a complex and angry character that’s scarily common irl

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

I think men make a more realistic murderer

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

@Billi FitzsimonsI love a good shame driven motive. Particularly in men. That’s what makes it feel real to me

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

What WOULD be a good reason to commit murder in your opinion?

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

@Clare Stephens Yep, my thoughts exactly. It wasn’t a graphic murder which kind makes sense

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

@suchperson I was thinking the same thing! I loved that it was set in Tasmania but would rank the plot a lil lower than the lost man

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

I found it felt a little different from the other Jane Harper’s I’ve read - but maybe just because of the starkly different setting.

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

Yes!! I love the Australian setting. Jane Harper is sooo good at that

emma.gillman May 10, 2021

Hey Billi and Em! Keen to hear what you guys think!
