As a nurse of 30+ years,  assaults I have experienced have been mostly from elderly patients with dementia, or people with delirium. I agree that health care employers should take more accountability and provide support including paid sick leave. Prosecuting a patient however would be very tricky.

Ahh the irony of saying that children from two parent families are pro-social and have more empathy. Hardly an empathetic, pro-social statement.

One of the most terrifying experiences I had at Maitland gaol, in broad daylight, was a pigeon flying out of one of the cells straight at my head. I may have screamed a lot. It really is a fascinating place to visit.

Best thing for my rosacea would be to not wear a mask however as a nurse that isn’t possible. I do find La Roche Posay products the most soothing. L’Oréal CC anti redness cream helps me to be publicly presentable.

A timely article and close to home. I have been battling to get through The Song of Achilles when I became willingly side tracked by The Midnight Library. Cannot recommend it enough.

Duran Duran’s music has been the soundtrack to my life. From teenage girl crushes to seeing Robbie Williams in concert purely because Duran Duran performed as well, their music has always been in my heart. So this article that is so beautifully positive when so many other childhood memories have been dirtied, looking at you Rolf Harris, Bill Cosby and the Hey Dad actor, has made my day.

@rush bring forth these taps they speak of. I am both puzzled and intrigued.

My children’s high school has an opt in scheme for the cross country run rather than opting out. Seems to work well. Those who enjoy it happily go, those who don’t enjoy it are not traumatised and humiliated. At primary school the only cross country my son ever smiled at was a colour run. Yes he came last but he did complete it and had all the colours over him to prove it.

Lovely example of how a relationship with a narcissistic personality plays out.

Yes at last someone has put this into words. I have made an account purely to keep this article so I can quote from it.
