How about the part where the "suffering" parent admits that estrangement has a cause and isn't random for an "unknown" reason. Many if not all parents would like to think they've never done anything to earn their kid's estrangement. That is rarely the case-and they know what really happened to cause the shutdown. Maybe this author needs to quit playing the perfect victim and realize her daughter has a good reason for cutting her mom out of her life. Lord knows I sure did and because of the damage my mother caused to me, I work like a dog to make sure my kids know I am always there for them and will never betray them or make them feel they are not loved and cared for.
