He walked her down the aisle, so it’s perhaps no surprise Prince Charles has his own nickname for his daughter-in-law the Duchess of Sussex.
The Mail on Sunday reports Prince Charles calls the Duchess of Sussex Tungsten because she is as strong as metal.
“Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softie. It’s become a term of endearment,” a source told the paper.
Last month, the Duchess walked herself partly down the aisle of St George’s Chapel, walking only with a few bridesmaids and pageboys as a senior church figure led the way.
Prince Charles then stepped in and escorted her once she reached the Quire and accompanied her to the altar.
The strong bond between the two was made public after the Duchess’ father, Thomas Markle, was forced to pull out of the royal wedding on account of heart issues in the lead up up to the wedding.

Well, tungsten certainly is hard.
HRH Prince Charles accepts the Duchess of Sussex because he admires her temerity. I'm sure she "takes no prisoners". I think the inability of her father to attend really upset her. It now appears he had serious cardiac issues and needed surgery. Why he waited so long I can't say. It seems to me he had many months to go to US California and attend to his issue. Denial is a powerful agent. Perhaps he was in denial. But to miss his daughter's wedding really was unforgivable. He should have gone to a large city like D. F. or LA in the first place. Better yet he could have come to London. Certainly they would have taken care of him. Sad. I don't want to beat up on a man who was in pain and suffering. On the other hand this wasn't news to him either. We'll never know the whole story. I think the photo incident demonstrates he may be in fairly dire straights.. He probably had a tough life. I wait for that drama to play on. Two bits he'll co-author a book. Sad.
