Big Kids: The Parental Burnout Is Real

Welcome to This Glorious Mess Big Kids. A twice-weekly look at parenting as it really is - confusing, exhausting, inspiring, funny, and full of surprises. So many surprises!

We are not all depressed, but we are also far from flourishing. Our parenting 'mojo' has disappeared, and we are left irritable with the kids, anxious and fatigued.

We're all pretty tired right now, for a lot of reasons. But when it comes to raising our kids, a lot of us have lost our enthusiasm. Laura Jackal, a journalist at Mamamia, wrote about just that this week and spoke to you, our listeners, about how you're coping with parental burnout. She joins Holly and Andrew for a very candid conversation.

Plus, this week's parenting dilemma, what do you do with a seven year old who talks back?
