Can A Pill Really Cure COVID-19?

With Sydney's four month lockdown finally coming to an end and vaccination rates continuing to rise, many people within the health sector are now turning their attention to how we can treat people with Covid-19, as well as trying to prevent its spread altogether.

In anticipation of a sharp increase in case numbers as restrictions ease around the country, the Federal Government has ordered 300,000 doses of Molnupiravir, but can a pill really cure the deadly virus that has caused havoc across the entire world for nearly two years?

The Quicky speaks to an expert in infectious diseases to find out more about the drug, and others that are already being administered to consider what the best options are for helping us to recover when we've been diagnosed with coronavirus.
