Karl Stefanovic has played the best prank on his brother.

What a way to welcome him home.

Today Show host Karl Stafanovic is known for his pranks. So when his brother, Channel 9 foreign correspondent Peter Stefanovic touched down in Sydney today, Karl just couldn’t help himself.

Pete has been overseas working and reporting for the past seven years. So surely that deserved more than a ‘Welcome Home’ balloon? Karl thought so too.

That’s why he organised for a brass band and hoards of screaming people to greet his brother on arrival.

It took poor Pete a few minutes to realise the fanfare was in his honour, after sleepily stepping off a 20 hour flight from the UK.

A Channel Nine reporter caught Pete's reaction on camera, because Karl couldn't be there himself. When asked how he was feeling, Pete said he was "tired, but pretty good thank you."

It will be the first time Pete will be living in the same country as his girlfriend of one year, Sylvia Jeffreys.

He did mention to the reporter he was looking forward to seeing her again.

We're sure he'll be thanking his brother Karl for the entrance, too.
