Peppa Pig is coming to Australia for the first time in 12 years.

For the first time in 12 years, a no doubt very tired and over-worked Peppa Pig is going on a holiday. And her destination is none other than our land down under.

The childhood favourite will make its big-screen debut in March next year with an Australian-themed cinema experience for some of Peppa’s biggest fans, in an event titled My First Cinema Experience: Peppa’s Australian Holiday.

Making some very Australian-themed friends like that of Kylie Kangaroo, Mr Wallaby, a platypus and a koala, Peppa will star in a 60 minute special that comprises of nine episodes. Four of the episodes will be set in Australia where some very Australian landmarks like that of Uluru will be featured.

Entertainment One Films spokeswoman Natalie Motto told 3AW that she has no doubt the film will engross little fans from start to finish.

“The demographic is obviously pre-schoolers and this is primed to be little ones’ first cinematic experience,” she said.

“It will grab their attention from start to finish.”

Meanwhile, Managing Director of Entertainment One, Trish Padoin, told news.com.au the voices of the Kangaroo family that will feature in the film belong to an entire Queensland family. (Post continues after gallery.)

“They also go to the beach, learn to throw a boomerang, explore our amazing coral,” said Ms Padoin, proving that much of the cinematic experience is Australia-centric.

“It’s part of the new seventh season of Peppa Pig which was very much needed and wanted.”

Listen: Holly Wainwright went BTS on Play School to see how the iconic children’s show is made. Post continues below.

The other episodes screened at the cinematic event will see Peppa continue her holiday in London. It’ll be opening on March 16, 2017 with more release dates coming soon.
