Paul Walker's girlfriend faces the world.

Paul Walker

1. Paul Walker’s girlfriend appears in public for the first time after his death.

The girlfriend of the late Paul Walker has been photographed outside her Santa Barbara home. Understandably, she is distraught and being comforted by friends and family. The photos have been published by TMZ, and are circulating on news sites.

We decided not to publish them because she is a 23-year-old girl. She has just unexpectedly, lost the man she had been in a relationship with since she was 16. She is not a celebrity, she is a person in a state of extreme grief.

We encourage other websites to do the same.

2. Kim Kardashian’s baby North growing up so fast.

… wasn’t she only born, like, a week ago?

3. The trailer for Pompeii might just be the most ridiculous thing you see today.

Kit Harington (Jon Snow from Game of Thrones) is in a new film. It is called Pompeii. And it looks like it will be incredibly hilarious in a delightfully unintentional way.

We start with ominous shots of a volcano. Which makes sense, given that this is a movie about Pompeii, and all. We then move on to one and a half minutes of shirtless Jon Snow and pointless dialogue. And, at the end there is some lava. (Or magma. Geology isn’t really our strong point.)

Take a look:

4. Is Miranda Kerr going to be a singer?

Miranda Kerr

It looks like Miranda Kerr could be moving away from modelling and giving music a go.

The former Victoria’s Secret angel has reportedly recorded vocals for Australian artist, Bobby Fox. Bobby is a crooner (he played Frankie Valli in the Australian production of Jersey Boys). You can infer what you wish about Kerr’s music debut from that information.

In an interview with British Vogue last year, Kerr said that she had “recorded a couple of songs” solo, but that she didn’t have any plans to release them.

Would you buy Miranda’s music?

5. Melbourne Lord Mayor is expecting a baby.

The Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Robert Doyle, is set to be a dad again. 60-year-old Doyle is expecting a baby with his wife, Emma Page Campbell.

39-year-old Campbell, a lawyer,  and is 18 weeks along.

Doyle told the Herald Sun: “If you’re an older man marrying a younger woman, it’s important to be very clear about it right from the start. I’m looking forward to it and we’re both very happy.”

Doyle already has three adult children from a previous marriage.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

This. But ONLINE.

6. A Jane Austen online fantasy world? HELL TO THE YES!

This is possibly the best thing we have seen all week. A group of Jane Austen fans started a Kickstarter to build a Jane Austen online fantasy world.

The site is called Ever Jane: The Virtual World of Jane Austen. It’s sort of like a Georgian Pottermore. Where people take air at the seaside when they feel sick, instead of visiting Madam Pomfrey, in the Hospital Wing of Hogwarts.

Here’s the synopsis:

Ever, Jane is a virtual world that allows people to role-play in Regency Period England. Similar to traditional role playing games, we advance our character through experience, but that is where the similarities end. Ever, Jane is about playing the actual character in the game, building stories. Our quests are derived from player’s actions and stories. And we gossip rather than swords and magic to demolish our enemies and aid our friends.

And the best bit?

They. Raised. Enough. Money.

We’re logging on right away and making sure that Jane Fairfax gets with Mr Knightley. That Emma girl was such an annoying meddler.
