Oprah Winfrey has shared why she never chose to have kids of her own.

Oprah Winfrey has revealed that she has no regrets about not having children of her own.

The 63-year-old media mogul opened up to Good Housekeeping UK while talking about her Leadership Academy for Girls.

“When people were pressuring me to get married and have children, I knew I was not going to be a person that ever regretted not having them because I feel like I am a mother to the world’s children,” she said in the April issue of the magazine.

Janine Allis’ midlife crisis baby on I Don’t Know How She Does It.  “Love knows no boundaries,” she continued.

“It doesn’t matter if a child came from your womb or if you found that person at age 1, 10 or 20. If the love is real, the caring is pure and it comes from a good space, it works.”

The TV personality admitted that she didn’t think she would have been a good mother.

“For me [the Leadership Academy] was perfect, because I didn’t want babies,” she said. “I don’t have the patience.”

As Mamamia previously reported, in 2015 Oprah revealed that she had named the baby boy she lost when she was just 14.

“So I have named him, I had a little boy named Canaan. I did have a son. And I named him Canaan because Canaan means new land, new life,” she said.

The boy died a week after his premature birth.
